About Us
Our Beginnings
At Northen Trading Labs, our journey began in the early 1980s when the intersection of computing and financial markets was just emerging. During this time, I manually input FT-100 share prices from the Financial Times into a simple editor, ranking them by performance. Although I wasn’t investing yet, this process sparked a fascination with disciplined market analysis and its potential for profit.
Early Innovations
In the 1980s, while professionally coding for microcomputers like the BBC Micro, Atari ST, and Commodore Amiga, my thoughts frequently returned to trading. By the mid-1990s, this passion led to the creation of Market Trader, an innovative charting software that brought advanced analysis tools to home users. Paired with the Market Eye plug-in card, it enabled real-time charting and analysis via live financial data received through a TV aerial. However, with the rise of the internet, Market Eye faded, and I shifted my focus to other projects.
Returning To Trading
In 2019, I refocused on trading and began developing custom indicators for the MetaTrader platform. This time, my four sons played a pivotal role, testing every feature and providing fresh perspectives. Their input shaped our tools, culminating in the creation of EAsiTrader and EAsiScript by 2023. These tools were inspired by the ideas originally explored with Market Trader, modernized for today’s trading landscape.
